We are currently in the era of entrepreneurship. The need to have a flexible schedule, to live more freely without having to respond to someone’s orders or simply the desire to undertake and create your brand, pushes more and more people to throw themselves into the business world, head first.

As a result, not a single day goes by without me seeing on my Facebook wall sponsored videos of entrepreneur coaches with a title like “How to increase your sales in a few months” or “The 5 tips to be successful in your business”. The demand is there, and everyone wants to succeed as soon as possible.

Does that sound familiar? And yet, any entrepreneur who is just starting out, watches this kind of video at least once and tries to put it into practice.

This was my case for a while, even if most of the “secrets” mentioned were not. In fact, I already knew these theories, but you say to yourself: “If it worked for him, why doesn’t it work for me? I must have missed something… »

Obviously… Or not actually…

The truth is that every business is different, every entrepreneur is also different, and consequently, the methods used will necessarily be different.

There is no miracle recipe for success (otherwise it would be known), and sometimes if the “tricks” delivered by these web trainers seem to work, it is because they were adapted to them, but not necessarily to you.

So here are officially the 5 tips mentioned by web trainers, which do not necessarily adapt to everyone or are not easy to put into practice:

1. Find your niche

[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]

It is, indeed, THE FIRST advice you will be given before starting your business. And that is correct. If you are lucky enough to have one, you will probably have a real chance to succeed.

I say “luck” because there are not many untapped niches left, if not more at all. So the problem here is finding one.

I work in the web, so two years ago I started a web agency, and in my case, I still haven’t found my niche, because I don’t have an affinity for a particular theme in which I would like to specialize. I am someone who wants to help everyone, so I don’t see myself specializing in just one niche. That doesn’t stop me from succeeding. Yes, it’s less obvious, but it works.

2. Show yourself to the world

[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]

This includes: Going to events to talk with everyone and make contacts, showing up on social networks by creating visual content such as videos, IGTVs, podcasts, and others and prospecting by going door-to-door or making direct calls.

All these methods are certainly very effective, but, How to overcome your fear of being promoted? It’s a real dilemma that takes time to overcome, and sometimes time is what we lack in business.

3. Invest in advertising

[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]

As advertisements, we understand, of course, the media, newspapers, magazines, online marketing, and any other street advertising.

Being in the web business, I have necessarily specialized in Online Marketing, a subject that is becoming very fashionable because of its effectiveness in communicating a business.

I would always be the first to tell you that if you want a chance to succeed, you have to do online marketing. Promoting your brand in social networks by investing in Google, Facebook, and Instagram ads is a great boost for business.

However, having been in business for two years, and knowing how hard it is to attract right customers, those who pay for what your work is worth, I know that you still need a solid financial backing to be able to invest in the advertising that works. Unless, of course, you find a niche that works so well that you will rarely have to advertise again.

4. Delegate specific tasks

[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]

It is often said that delegating specific cumbersome tasks will allow us to free up time to do what really matters to move the business forward.

I agree quite a lot in principle. If I didn’t have to do invoicing, customer management, work on customer projects, maintenance, supplier call, all at the same time on the same day, for sure that I would have more time to devote to what could bring me customers.

However, even after a few years of work, it is sometimes difficult to recruit anyone to delegate the task. Because to delegate, it is necessary to hire workers, that is, to pay expenses as well as salaries, or to subcontract freelancers that sometimes is not a good solution if specific tasks are to be carried out. All this requires a significant financial contribution that if you do not have it, you will not be able to move forward.

This may be the hardest advice to put into practice in your business. But if you do, it’s undoubtedly an excellent way to succeed.

5. Raise your prices

[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]

Easier said than done. Indeed, when we are confronted with monthly expenses related to our business, we have to say: “I don’t lower the prices” – but in the end, if you really need money, you take what comes. Either you are strong in spirit, and you refuse small customers, at the risk of not having enough to pay at the end of the month, or you take it upon yourself and accept what comes with trying to remain worthy.
